The LIFE EL-BIOS project aims to develop an integrated National Biodiversity Information System , which:
- collects information from existing Greek biodiversity databases currently not interconnected (free access geoportal),
- combines and easily disseminates information and data regarding Greece’s biodiversity (through tiered access).
Additionally to the National Biodiversity Information System, the project includes innovative biodiversity data collection methods in pilot sites of the Natura 2000 network:
- Northern Pindos National Park
- Kotychi-Strofylia Wetlands National Park
The end result is to facilitate biodiversity monitoring, conservation, and management in Greece.
