IMPETUS aims to enhance climate resilience by developing a comprehensive adaptation framework that addresses climate change across multiple scales, and sectors. In response to the challenges posed by climate change and the COVID-19 crisis, IMPETUS emphasizes building resilient regions without compromising productive sectors or societal fairness. Through Resilience Knowledge Boosters (RKBs), IMPETUS will provide a  a place for stakeholders to engage and create together, deploy, and monitor climate adaptation Innovation Packages across all EU biogeographical regions.

To help accelerate Europe’s climate adaptation strategy and meet the European Union’s ambitions to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050,  IMPETUS was launched in October 2021. Its objective: turn climate commitments into tangible, urgent actions to protect communities and the planet.
