This action includes the preparation of a preliminary study to explore floodplain and streambed management options along the Sarantapotamos stream, focusing on the application of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to regulate and slow down water flow and reduce flood risk.

The pilot area extends from the Amarynthos settlement to the stream’s estuary in the Euboean Gulf, affecting a stream length of approximately 2 Km. The project aims to shape and manage the main bed of the streams, with the ultimate goal of controlling the flow of Sarantapotamos.

Problem Addressed: Presentation of various types of interventions that could be implemented in the area, aiming to contribute to the mitigation of flood event impacts.
