Med-Gold

The main objective of the Med-Gold project is to transform climate-related information into added value for the traditional Mediterranean food systems based on grapevine, olive, and Mediterranean durum wheat.

The project has co-developed its climate services with users, utilizing state-of-the-art climate data, with either modified existing tools, already well-known within the respective sectors, or  entirely new tools, developed from scratch.

The climate services for the agri-food sector will contribute in making  European agriculture and food systems more resilient, sustainable, and efficient in the face of climate change.

CCICH

The initiative “Addressing the impacts of climate change on natural and cultural heritage” is coordinated by Greece, with UNESCO, UNFCCC, and the WMO as partners. Its objectives are:

a) the establishment of an international network among the countries and international organizations supporting the initiative, as well as other global actors engaged in the protection of cultural and natural heritage from the climate change,

b) the creation of a database listing good practices in this field,

c) the management of relevant expertise, information, and

LIFEASTI

LIFE ASTI contributes significantly to the generic goal of the EU Adaptation Strategy. It develops policies to improve the adaptation to the impact of the Urban Thermal Island effect, especially during the summer heatwaves. Thus, it reduces the risk in Metropolitan Areas by introducing prevention services and more effectively applying the EU guidelines about energy efficiency. For the representative geographil coverage of the problem, the evaluation of various environmental conditions, and the support of one of the most important EU priorities about the common effort and international cooperation, 2 Mediterranean cities were chosen.

Valorada

VALORADA aims to empower European prefectures and municipalities in directing the oncoming social reform to the climate sustainable and resilient development.

The Project is aligned with the EU Adaptation Mission that aims to support the transformation of 150 EU regions to become climate sustainable and resilient by 2030, through: 

  • accelerating social reforms, 
  • demonstrating systemic reforms,
  • improving accessibility and usability of climate data

DEAR-Clima

In the framework of the GEO-CRADLE project, the DEAR-Clima application was developed, for exporting regional climatic data.

This application is a user-friendly interactive tool that visualizes and provides time-series of important climatic parameters and indicators.

MPA ENGAGE

The MPA ENGAGE project is related to the adaptation and mitigation of Climate Change on Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean Sea.

The indicative actions of the project include: 

 

  • Assessing the vulnerability of biodiversity in MPAs in relation to climate change, 

 

  • Evaluating socio-economic impacts, 

 

  • Developing and implementing scientific monitoring protocols to track the effects of climate change, 

 

  • Raising public awareness through specific communication activities, 

 

  • Strengthening Citizen Science initiatives, 

 

  • Developing a climate change adaptation plan
