MULTICLIMACT

The MULTICLIMACT project aims to safeguard Europe’s built environment and its inhabitants against the increasing threats of natural and climatic hazards through innovative strategies that place the built environment and human resilience at the centre of climatic and future proofing measures.

MULTICLIMACT supports resilience-enabling ACTions through the implementation of a toolkit with 18 reliable, easy-to-implement and cost-efficient design methods (6 design ideas), materials (7 materials) and digital solutions (5 digital solutions) that allow users to easily assess the impact on the resilience of the object in question and integrate a multidisciplinary approach, i.e. the socio-economic, living, engineering and climate disciplines.  The proposed approach is demonstrated in four case studies that represent various geographical locations, natural and climatic hazards, social and economic systems and scales of analysis, ranging from single buildings (including cultural heritage) to the urban and territorial scales.

  • collects information  from existing Greek biodiversity databases currently not interconnected (free access geoportal),
  • combines and easily disseminates information and data regarding Greece’s biodiversity (through tiered access).

Additionally to the National Biodiversity Information System, the project includes innovative biodiversity data collection methods in pilot sites of the Natura 2000 network:

  • Northern Pindos National Park
  • Kotychi-Strofylia Wetlands National Park

The end result is to facilitate biodiversity monitoring, conservation, and management in Greece.
